Members in Hermiston traveling on Elm Avenue may have noticed construction activities have begun as UEC rebuilds transmission line.
This project will replace existing transmission lines that connect our Butte Substation in Hermiston to a substation near Highway 37, east of town. A new project job site has been set up on the corner of Elm Avenue and Southwest 2nd Street. Contractors will manage the project from this location, store construction materials, and line crews working on the project will be reporting to work daily.
Please be careful as you navigate the area and watch for crews as work is being performed. To minimize the impact to the community, crews will be working mainly during early morning hours throughout the duration of the project.
