Hone Your Leadership Skills and Earn Money For College at the ICUA Youth Rally!

The students chosen to represent UEC at the Idaho Consumer-Owned Utilities Association’s (ICUA) annual Youth Rally (2023 group pictured left) will spend a week at the campus of Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa building leadership skills, learning more about the electric utility industry and having a really fun time!

Each year, UEC sponsors several local high school students at the Idaho Consumer-Owned Utilities Association’s (ICUA) annual Youth Rally. For one week, youth — representing Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, and Alaska — converge in Nampa, Idaho, at the campus of Northwest Nazarene University to participate in a variety of educational activities and leadership classes to build skills in leadership, teamwork, perseverance, and more. Students have a chance to also learn more about government, drug and alcohol awareness, and the electrical/energy industry.

  • Camp Dates: July 8 -13, 2024
  • Location: The Northwest Nazarene University Campus in Nampa, Idaho

Additional Information

  • Open to qualified high school sophomores or juniors whose parent or guardian is a current member of Umatilla Electric Cooperative.
  • Applicants must be available for an informal ten-minute interview. The dates and times of the interviews will be coordinated with each respective applicant or high school.
  • Selection criteria include community/school involvement and personal attributes.
