Go Pink This October

UEC Employees are Gearing Up to Raise Funds to Benefit Our Local Community During Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Last year UEC staff stepped up in a big way, raising thousands of dollars to support Good Shepherd Community Health Foundation and its mission to help those underserved members of our community with breast cancer screening and treatment. UEC staff participated in a variety of fund raising activities to honor those that have fought the disease. After hearing the amount staff had raised, the UEC Board of Directors were so impressed with the generosity they added an additional donation.

During the month of October, UEC staff will again be wearing pink, participating in additional activities, and doing their part to fight against breast cancer. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the U.S., accounting for 31 percent of newly diagnosed cancers. This disease doesn’t just affect women. Breast cancer is diagnosed in 1 of 100,000 men, as well. Let’s all join the fight this year!
