Applicants need to include a photo of themselves with their completed application.
Applicants are required to submit either a short video or essay on one of the following topics:
- Tell us about yourself and what you are passionate about.
- Describe your view of one of the major challenges facing our nation and what potential solution(s) you envision.
If you do a video, it should be about 60-90 seconds long. It will be judged on content rather than production values. Should you choose to do an essay, it should be between 300-400 words.
Submit your completed essay or video and picture using one of these three options:
- Drop off your completed materials in person at our Hermiston or Boardman office.
- Submit via email at Amy.Callan@UmatillaElectric.com
- Send a link to a Google Doc or video file to the email address above.
Submissions will be judged by a committee chosen by Umatilla Electric. Semi-finalists may be requested to interview in person. Umatilla Electric will be selecting two finalists and two alternates. All applicants will be notified of selection status.
The selected students will represent Umatilla Electric Cooperative and will join other Oregon delegates for a trip to Washington, D.C. The NRECA Youth Tour will be held from June 18 – 25, 2020.
