UEC Publishes List of Unclaimed Capital Credits
Umatilla Electric Cooperative gives notice that capital credit payments are now and have been available since 2012 at the office of the Cooperative at 750 W. Elm Avenue, PO Box 1148, Hermiston, OR 97838, to the members named on the list published here. Unless the members named or their heirs claim payment no later than December 31, 2016, they will be forfeited to the Cooperative. These unclaimed credits were earned in the years of 1994, 1995 and 2011.
Of the more than 2,500 names and businesses on the current list, about 200 are for payments of more than $100. About 1,500 names and businesses on the list involve payments of less than $10. A total of $142,000 is unclaimed.

Capital credits are member’s share of the cooperative’s margins for a year in which revenues exceeded expenses. The amount a member is credited is proportionate to the amount received in energy services during the same year. Capital Credits are refunded periodically as approved by the Umatilla Electric Board of Directors.
