Outages Occur As Winds Gust to 43 MPH

Outages occurred overnight in the Boardman-Hermiston area as winds gusted to 43 mph.

At 11 p.m., 861 UEC members served by the Coyote Springs Substation lost power, affecting the town of Boardman and the Port of Morrow. The outage eventually affected about 1,373 members. Power was restored in the Boardman area at 2:40 a.m.

At 11:34 p.m., a tree limb that snagged a power line in the Minnehaha district caused an outage to 528 members in southwest Hermiston. Power was restored at 1:38 a.m.

Today’s National Weather Service forecast calls for more sun, with wind gusts up to 23 mph.
