Shortly before 5 p.m. Saturday, May 30, a powerful series of thunderstorms hit Northeast Oregon after causing widespread destruction in Central Oregon. Peak gusts hit 76 mph at Arlington, 75 at Umatilla, 73 at Irrigon and 69 at the Hermiston Airport, with higher gusts away from the sensors, the National Weather Service reports.Thank you members for your patience and attention to safety as we repair the damage! Please know our crews are working as quickly and safely as possible to restore power.

Wednesday, June 3

7 a.m.. – About 15 members remain without power following Saturday’s thunderstorms, other than at the Boardman trailer park on Wilson Road, where more extensive restoration work awaits.

THANK YOU to our communities for your patience and efforts to help friends and neighbors as they clean downed trees off homes, business and roads. This storm proves how deep the community spirit runs in Eastern Oregon.

Tuesday, June 2

7 p.m. – About 100 members remain without power following Saturday’s thunderstorms. More than 8,000 have been restored. Crews will be working day and night until full restoration is achieved. Every downed power line is potentially energized and dangerous until utility crews arrive on the scene to ensure power has been cut off. Downed power lines, stray wires, and debris in contact with them all have the potential to deliver a shock. More at https://bit.ly/2TWddww

6:30 a.m. Tuesday – Crews have reduced the number of members out to fewer than 50, in scattered outages in the Boardman-Irrigon-Hermiston areas.

5 a.m. Tuesday – Working through the night, crews have reduced the number of members out of power to 95 in Morrow County and 43 in Umatilla County. Thank you members for staying safe and supporting our restoration efforts.
