Oregon Cap & Trade Bill Moves to Senate

After more than six hours of spirited debate on Monday, the Oregon House passed the cap and trade bill by a vote of 36-24.

House Bill 2020 now moves on to the Oregon Senate for consideration. The bill would create a cap-and-trade system to regulate greenhouse gas emissions in the transportation, manufacturing and utility sectors. Oregon would be the second state after California to enact such a policy.
