Umatilla Electric Cooperative was recognized with four communications awards at the Northwest Public Power Association’s (NWPPA) 33rd Annual Northwest Innovations in Communications (NIC) Conference, held Wednesday, Sept. 23, in Walla Walla, Wash.
The competition was judged by nine marketing and communications professionals from across the Northwest, who volunteered their time to review and evaluate each entry. Umatilla Electric earned recognition in four of the nine categories in its division:
- First Place — Photography (perfect score)
- First Place — Social Media (perfect score)
- First Place — Ruralite
- Third Place — Video (Boardman Kinkade Fire Video)
All entries submitted to the contest were original materials that were first published, produced, or distributed during 2025.
“We’re proud to have our communications work recognized by professionals from across the Northwest,” says Weston Putman, manager of public relations. “Our team works hard to make sure members have the information they need in a way that is clear, timely, and meaningful. These awards reflect that effort and our continued focus on keeping members informed and connected to their cooperative.”
These awards recognize the creativity and effort behind UEC’s communications while reinforcing the importance of keeping its members informed, engaged, and connected.
