At Umatilla Electric Cooperative, supporting the people and traditions that shape our region is a cornerstone of who we are. That’s why we are once again proud to sponsor two of the biggest community celebrations of the year — the Umatilla County Fair and the Farm-City Pro Rodeo.
These events are more than just a week of fun — they represent the values we hold dear: hard work, family, and the enduring connection between our agricultural roots and rural communities. Whether you’re cheering on rodeo athletes, visiting 4-H and FFA livestock barns, enjoying the food vendors, or catching up with neighbors at the concert stage, these events are a highlight of the summer.
As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting youth in agriculture, UEC will once again participate in the Youth Livestock Auction on Saturday, Aug. 9. Investing in these students and their animals is an investment in the future of our communities, and it’s a tradition we’re proud to carry on year after year.
Festivities officially kicked off on Saturday, Aug. 2 with the Umatilla County Fair Parade in downtown Hermiston. Members of the UEC team enjoyed riding through the route on one of our line trucks handing out candy and waving to the crowd. It’s always a great way to start the celebration!
The fair and rodeo will take place at the Eastern Oregon Trade and Event Center from Wednesday, Aug. 6 through Saturday, Aug. 9. We encourage all our members to get out and enjoy the events, support local youth, and take pride in the community we’ve all helped build together.
