UEC Service Territory Experiencing Two Wildfires.
- Emergency personnel have been dispatched to a brush fire on Highway 730 near Highway 37. UEC crews have patrolled the area affected by the wildfire and as of 8:00 p.m., all members affected by the events have been fully restored. We appreciate the patience of our members as we coordinated efforts with other agencies for the safety of our first responders and our communities.
- A second wildfire has started in Pendleton northeast of HWY 11, near Mt. Hebron area. As of 7:00 p.m., this fire is approximately 70% contained.
We wish to extend special recognition and gratitude to all firefighters and first responders that have participated in the efforts today to contain the Hat Rock Fire. Although all UEC services have been restored, the fire continues to burn this evening and many people are working hard to contain the blaze. We appreciate your efforts.
UEC will continue to focus on the safety of our members and community through this challenging time.
