Every September, IT Professionals Day offers a chance to recognize the people who keep our digital world running. At Umatilla Electric Cooperative, our IT team is a core piece of our daily operations - working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that employees stay connected, systems remain secure, and members receive reliable service without interruption.
This year, their efforts have been especially noteworthy. With UEC’s transition into a newly renovated headquarters, the IT department has played a critical role in making the move seamless. From setting up workstations and phone systems to ensuring network connectivity and safeguarding sensitive data, their expertise allowed our staff to resume serving members without missing a beat.
In addition to managing day-to-day technology needs, UEC’s IT professionals are on constant watch against cyber threats. Their proactive approach helps prevent attacks, protect member information, and maintain the cooperative’s ability to deliver safe, reliable service. In a world where digital risks continue to grow, their vigilance is essential.
“Reliable technology is at the heart of everything we do, from member services to field operations,” said Adelaide Zumwalt, manager of information technology. “Our IT team makes sure those systems are not only up and running but also protected from outside threats. Their work may not always be visible, but it is critical to the success of our cooperative.”
UEC is proud to celebrate IT Professionals Day and to thank our skilled and dedicated team for the work they do every day. Whether it’s troubleshooting an issue, strengthening our cybersecurity, or managing the complex logistics of an office move, their expertise and commitment help power our mission of serving members with excellence.
