Today on National REA Day, we honor the legacy of President Franklin D. Roosevelt signing the Rural Electrification Act in 1935 - a milestone that helped bring electricity to rural America through cooperative utilities.

Incorporated on June 18, 1937, Umatilla Electric Cooperative was founded to meet the growing need for reliable electric service in rural communities - a mission that continues today.

We’re proud to carry forward the cooperative spirit that helped power rural America!
