Beyond keeping the lights on, we’re committed to lifting up the communities we call home. Every project, every partnership, every decision starts with the people we serve.
As your electric cooperative, delivering power is essential — but the heart of what we do is taking care of the community we share. We live and work right alongside you, and we’re committed to making this area stronger for everyone.
If you ever need support — maybe some guidance on cutting your energy use to lower monthly costs or a conversation about payment options during tough times — please don’t hesitate to contact us.
We encourage you to check out SmartHub, a convenient tool that lets you track your energy use, manage your account, and pay your bill anytime from your computer or mobile device. We also offer PowerUp Prepay, a pay-as-you-go option designed to help you stay on top of your monthly electricity expenses. Members can purchase electricity in advance and receive frequent updates on their remaining balance. SmartHub automatically sends email alerts when a PowerUp Prepay account drops below $25. To learn more about our available payment options, visit our billing and payment options page.
UEC provides a variety of energy efficiency programs as well — from rebates on residential appliances and home weatherization improvements to custom lighting upgrades and irrigation solutions for commercial members. Our goal is to help you use less energy and save more money.
And while we’re committed to savings today, we’re equally focused on tomorrow. Through UEC’s Scientific Irrigation Scheduling program, irrigators conserve billions of gallons of water and save around 10 million kilowatt-hours of energy each year — enough to power 725 all electric homes for an entire year.
Our most meaningful investment, though, is in young people. UEC employees volunteer countless hours with local schools, youth organizations, and community programs. Every year we award 14 scholarships totaling $50,000 to support local students as they pursue their educational and career goals.
Each summer, our Youth Programs send two high school juniors to Washington, D.C., for a week-long experience learning about government and leadership. We also sponsor several students to attend the Idaho Youth Rally, an all-expenses-paid opportunity where teens build leadership skills and can earn additional scholarships.
Whenever you need assistance — whether it’s discussing payment arrangements or asking for energy-saving guidance, we’re here and ready to help. Caring for the community isn’t just part of our work; it defines who we are. No matter what the future brings, you can rely on your cooperative to stand with you.
Wishing you and your loved ones peace, joy, and prosperity this holiday season. Your friends at Umatilla Electric Cooperative look forward to a bright future thanks to you.
