Power City Transmission LineCrews will be installing new conductors over Interstate 82 and Powerline Road as part of a project to replace an existing transmission line in areas of Power City, south of Umatilla.

Existing structures for the line will remain in place, so crews will be focusing on pulling new conductors to circuit from 115kV to 230kV. There will be a handful of new structures installed, but minimal impacts.

When pulling the conductor over the interstate there will be traffic control on I-82 to make it as safe as possible. Speed will be reduced to 55MPH, and the interstate will be narrowed down to one lane each way as a precautionary measure. Additionally, traffic control will also be present intermittently in the upcoming weeks along Powerline Rd as crews begin installing new conductors.
