Internet Parkway Substation located in Boardman, Ore.

Umatilla Electric Cooperative is proud to announce the successful energization of the new Internet Parkway Substation in Boardman, Oregon. This critical infrastructure project marks a major step forward in supporting the region’s growing energy demands and fueling economic development at the Port of Morrow.

Construction began in May 2024 and was completed on schedule in April 2025. The new substation is now fully operational and stands ready to ensure the safe, reliable delivery of energy for commercial and industrial users across the area.

“I am pleased to announce that UEC’s new Internet Parkway Substation is now energized,” says Ryan Young, superintendent of engineering. “This is a large industrial-feeding station—one of UEC's largest load-serving locations. The smooth construction and commissioning process was made possible by the outstanding collaboration between our construction, commissioning, and operations teams.”

This investment underscores UEC’s commitment to supporting economic growth while maintaining the reliability, safety, and efficiency our members depend on. Substations like Internet Parkway are essential to our electric distribution system, stepping down high-voltage power to levels that can be safely delivered to homes, farms, and businesses.

As the Boardman region continues to grow, UEC remains dedicated to meeting future energy needs and ensuring our system is ready for what’s next.
