This summer, Umatilla Electric Cooperative welcomed several interns across various departments to gain firsthand experience in the electric utility industry while developing professional skills and exploring career opportunities.
One of those interns was Ainsley Curtiss, a marketing student at Utah Tech University who joined UEC's Employee Engagement Department. Throughout the summer, Ainsley supported a variety of projects designed to enhance employee programs and strengthen internal operations.
During her internship, Ainsley gained insight into the importance of communication, teamwork, and collaboration across the cooperative. Working alongside employees from multiple departments helped her better understand how different areas of the organization work together to serve UEC members and support one another.
“My internship at UEC has been an incredible learning experience,” Ainsley said. “I've had the opportunity to work on meaningful projects, develop professional skills, and learn from a supportive team. I'm grateful for everything I've learned and for the experience of contributing to a cooperative that values its employees and community.”
UEC's internship program provides students with hands-on experience, professional development opportunities, and exposure to careers within the cooperative and utility industries. The program helps prepare future professionals while allowing interns to contribute to meaningful projects that support the cooperative's mission and employees.
We thank Ainsley for her contributions this summer and wish her continued success as she pursues her education and career goals.
