During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, UEC Employees are Fundraising to Benefit Our Local Community.
Breast cancer is the second most common cancer among women in the United States, making up about 30% of newly diagnosed cases. While it primarily affects women, men are also at risk, with approximately 1 in 100,000 diagnosed each year. Early detection remains one of the most effective tools in the fight against this disease.
For the past several years, UEC staff have stepped up to support this cause, raising thousands of dollars annually to fund breast cancer screening and treatment in the local community. Through a variety of fundraising activities, employees honor those who have battled the disease. Last year, inspired by the generosity of staff, the UEC Board of Directors contributed an additional donation to further the impact.
This October, UEC staff will once again show their commitment by wearing pink, participating in special activities, and continuing their efforts to raise awareness and support. Together, we can make a difference in the fight against breast cancer.
