An outage that began at 2:45 p.m. today affected 7,450 members and customers of Umatilla Electric and Hermiston Energy Services, with nearly all restored by 4:03 p.m. Here are the updates.

4:15 p.m. update - Efforts continue to restore power to a small number of UEC meters still out following an outage that occurred on the Northwest power grid, which affected UEC's Hat Rock interconnection. Power to UEC and HES residential customers and lands east of Hermiston and Stanfield has been restored by re-routing power from other sources on the UEC system. Some members served by the Juniper Canyon West and Sandpoint substations east of Hermiston remain without power. Thank you for your patience!

3:45 p.m. update - Power has been restored to all but about 250 UEC members following an outage affecting 7,450 UEC and HES meters in the Hermiston-Stanfield area. Efforts continue to restore power to irrigated lands east of town.

3 p.m. - At outage that originated at UEC’s integration to the regional power grid at Hat Rock at 2:44 p.m. today has cut power to about 7,450 Umatilla Electric and Hermiston Energy Services meters in east Hermiston and in areas east of Hermiston and Stanfield. As power is re-routed from other sources, some members have been restored as of 3 p.m. Crews are responding; no estimate of full restoral is yet available.
