For over two decades, Rosaura Madrigal has been an integral part of the Umatilla Electric family, growing alongside the organization and making a lasting impact through her dedication, professionalism, and care for others.

Madrigal’s journey with UEC began in 1994 when she joined as a student employee during school breaks. After attending Blue Mountain Community College, she returned in 1996 as a temporary employee before officially becoming full-time in 1997. Over the years, Madrigal has held a variety of roles that have shaped her strong understanding of the organization — from Customer Service Clerk and General Secretary to HR Assistant, HR Records Coordinator, and now, Human Resources Administrator.

Recently, the Human Resources Department underwent a title change and is now known as Employee Engagement — a shift that perfectly reflects the department’s focus on people, relationships, and organizational culture. As a key member of this team, Madrigal continues to demonstrate the values of engagement and support that define the department’s mission.

In her current role, Madrigal administers employee benefits, manages leaves, and oversees a range of HR functions including data tracking and recordkeeping. “I truly enjoy what I do and working in benefits,” she shared. “I look forward to coming to work every day.”

Her days are always dynamic. While she starts each morning by addressing priority tasks, the rest of her day can take her in many directions. “Every day is different, and everything I touch affects somebody,” Madrigal shares. “That’s what makes it meaningful.”

What she finds most rewarding is the opportunity to help others. “My number one priority is that employees come first,” she emphasized. Her commitment to service is reflected in every interaction, ensuring employees feel supported through both personal and professional challenges.

Kalie Davis, UEC’s manager of employee engagement highlighted Madrigal’s contributions and dedication:

“With 28 years of UEC service, Rosaura is the backbone of Employee Engagement. Her responsibility covers everything from employee leave, medical benefits, and equal opportunity employer compliance. She has been a staple for UEC employees during their lowest lows and highest highs, ensuring they have what they need so they can focus on what is most important. Her empathy, attention to detail, and work ethic are appreciated across departments.”

Madrigal acknowledges that working in Human Resources requires adaptability in an ever changing, fast-paced environment. Yet, she embraces these challenges as opportunities to grow.

Madrigal’s long-standing commitment and dedication to the well-being of UEC employees make her not only a cornerstone of the HR team but also a shining example of what it means to serve with heart.
