Where does UEC get its power? BPA? What happens if the government has a crisis and forces BPA to raise rates?

UEC has a number of power suppliers, including the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA). We also have several other power suppliers that we work with that supply the remainder of our energy. BPA sells power to UEC and other utilities at cost, so if rates have gone up, your costs will also have gone up. This is why our power supply team works so hard to ensure we are making the most of our power purchasing decisions.

As a self-funded agency, BPA does not receive annual appropriations or tax dollars for operations and maintenance from the federal government. Therefore, there is little exposure to a government crisis impacting rates.
