Location: Hermiston, OR
To support operational flexibility for UEC’s system, a 2-mile long 115kV transmission line is being rebuilt west of Hermiston along Westland Road. This project connects two of UEC’s facilities, supporting members with added capacity, moving from a single circuit to double for irrigation and member growth in the area.

Why Rebuild the Transmission Line?
UEC needs to invest in new infrastructure to meet the increased need of the rapidly growing region. The rebuilt transmission line will add capacity as the existing single circuit will now be double circuit and increases operational flexibility for UEC members.

Benefits and Value Carefully Considered
UEC members and community may experience construction activity along Westland Rd. with minimal impact to traffic. Members and the community can expect to see steel poles installed with new conductor being installed once all structures are complete. Traffic control will be present intermittently as crews are drilling holes, setting poles, and installing conductor.
