Basalt Substation

Umatilla County, OR

UEC is constructing a new substation at the Port of Umatilla to support member growth in the area.

Pioneer Switchyard

Morrow County, OR

UEC is constructing a new switchyard along Bombing Range Road, south of Boardman, to support member growth in the area.

Irrigon Distribution Rebuild

Irrigon, OR

UEC crews will be replacing about a half-mile of distribution line in Irrigon. Beginning at Irrigon Jr./Sr. High School, the project will follow Division and eventually connect to infrastructure at Highway 730.

Cottonwood to Ordnance Transmission Line

Hermiston, OR

The Cottonwood to Ordnance Transmission line is located west of Hermiston near Westland Road. The transmission line connects two of UEC’s facilities, increasing operational flexibility in the area.

Wheatland Substation

Morrow County, OR

South of Boardman, the Wheatland Substation is now under construction, supporting future interconnection projects in the region. This project connects to UEC’s system through the WheatridgeTransmission Line along Bombing Range Road.

Umatilla Morrow County Connect Transmission Line

Hermiston, OR

The Umatilla-Morrow County Connect (UMCC) Project will provide transmission system interconnection between Umatilla and Morrow counties.

Chinook Substation

Boardman, OR

A new substation is now under construction in the Boardman area, supporting industrial growth in the Port of Morrow Industrial Park. This substation adds to UEC’s ability to serve growing member load along the Columbia River.

Port of Morrow Substation Rebuild

Boardman, OR

The Port of Morrow Substation is being reconfigured and rebuilt to better support load in the Boardman area. The project is now under construction and will add capacity and redundancy to better serve members in the area.

Heritage Trail Substation Expansion

Boardman, OR

An additional distribution bay is being added to the existing Heritage Trail Substation in Boardman. This facility is just east of BPA’s Longhorn Substation and supports additional capacity and redundancy on the west end of UEC’s electric system.

Completed Projects

Tower Road Mobile Substation

Boardman, OR

To support growth in the Boardman Airport Industrial Park, UEC has constructed the Tower Road Mobile Substation to support load in the area while the permanent substation is constructed.

Rockpile Transmission Line Integration

Umatilla, OR

New transmission connections through the Rockpile Switchyard connect the Umatilla Substation through to Cottonwood Substation, supporting load growth and redundancy across our system.

Mission Substation

MIssion, OR

The existing Mission Substation has been rebuilt in the same location to provide better reliability and additional capacity, supporting UEC members in District 6.

Quarry Substation Expansion

Power City, OR

The Quarry Substation supports UEC members north of Hermiston in the Power City Industrial Area with additional support and capacity for continued economic benefit.

Internet Parkway Substation

Boardman, OR

The Internet Parkway Substation supports load growth for UEC members in the Port of Morrow Industrial Parks in Boardman.

Farm City Substation

Hermiston, OR

The Farm City Substation supports load growth for UEC members in the South Hermiston Industrial Park located south of Hermiston on Feedville Road.

Ordnance Switchyard

Hermiston, OR

The Ordnance Switchyard was recently constructed west of Hermiston near Westland Road. This project supports UEC’s growing electric system and will play a key role in connecting Umatilla and Morrow counties.

Oregon Trail Substation Expansion

Hermiston, OR

The Oregon Trail Substation, west of Echo, is receiving a new transmission bay and yard expansion. These upgrades support members in the region with improved reliability and additional capacity for growth in the area.

McNary to Wanapa Transmission Line

McNary, OR

UEC recently constructed a new 230kV transmission line near McNary Dam, northeast of Umatilla. This project connects UEC’s system to BPA’s McNary substation, supporting industrial growth in the Port of Umatilla.

Columbia to Hwy. 37 Transmission Line Rebuild

Hermiston, OR

Lines east of Hermiston, from UEC’s Columbia to Foster West substations, were recently replaced. These improvements allow UEC to better serve members in the region, supporting irrigation load growth and additional capacity east of Hermiston.
